欺诈横行 | 3900万N95子虚乌有 工会撇责 州长发声 FBI调查

3月27日，我们发布了一则令人喜出望外的消息：加州工会搜寻到3900万个急需的医用N95口罩。正当大家还在高兴的时候，洛杉矶时报报道这批产品完全是子虚乌有！

Kaiser Permanente是工会公布的采购商之一，他们下了600万的订单，但是与工会提供的供应商多次联系，要求确认和验货，但是供应商从来没有提供过可靠信息。

Kaiser Permanente撤回了订单，并向联邦执法机构进行了举报，联邦现在开始进行欺诈调查。

工会撇责

这家工会是Service Employees International Union – United Healthcare Workers West。它的发言人说他们努力去挽救医护工作者和病人的声明，他们很骄傲做了这个尝试。

Steve Trossman, a spokesman for SEIU-United Healthcare Workers West, said that the organization “was trying to save the lives of healthcare workers and patients” and that union officials “were proud of having made that attempt.”

州长发声

加州州长Gavin Newsom表示，州政府也遇到了医护用品采购欺诈。一些人在这个时候利用我们，说他们可以提供什么，但是实际上他们没有能力或者根本就不想给你发货！他还透露州政府采购的口罩中甚至有发霉的！

People are taking advantage of all of us at this moment and saying they’re going to deliver something quite literally that they’re not capable of delivering or never intended to deliver.

FBI调查

州政府正在与FBI合作，对欺诈行为进行调查。

At a Saturday news conference, Gov. Gavin Newsom said state officials also have run into fraud while trying to buy equipment and are working with the FBI to investigate con artists hawking masks.

“So, it’s not only not receiving the product, it’s getting inadequate product, a product that was identified and labeled as one thing comes in as another, or the units that were agreed to don’t arrive,” Newsom said. “This has been described, I think appropriately, as the wild, wild West.”

你可能收到劣质品，或者挂羊头卖狗肉的，或者完全是空头支票。野蛮，野蛮西部！

也正如我们华人社区最近几个月所经历的那样，无论是通过微信群团购的，或者自己从中国购买的口罩，很多假货，你根本难以识别。湾区黄页群有群友反映，他们家从网上订购了一批口罩，结果从中国寄来的包装盒里是一堆草纸！

这家工会似乎不是FBI这次调查的目标。工会和联邦机构也不愿意透露牵涉其中的供应商的名字。总之，准备发国难财的人很多，无论是个人、单位，还是各级政府，都可能成为被欺诈的对象！
